It’s time to kick those shoddy-looking earphones to the curb and switch to something more lavish. The third-generation Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up earphones are here to deliver a high-quality listening experience with a whiff of high fashion. The Maison’s latest wireless earphones join the rapidly expanding list of other Horizon devices like smartwatches and speakers, becoming part of an “ecosystem of beautifully crafted, high-end connected objects.” Louis Vuitton‘s latest generation of earphones is a rare and exclusive breed of high-end audio products that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible, blending ingenious and exceptional craftsmanship with seamless wireless technology.
According to the brand, these wireless earphones are crafted out of a lightweight aluminium frame for utmost comfort and ease. The curved Tambour shape of the earphones draws inspiration from the iconic Louis Vuitton Tambour watch case, helping these stand out from the crowd while also adding to the overall design language and tone. These are finished with a spheroidal layer of polished sapphire that rests over flowers from the Louis Vuitton Connected Monogram pattern. The Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up earphones come in five different and vibrant colour patterns, out of which three belong to the standard collection, while the other two are limited editions only available at launch.
The standard collection includes the classic matt black with gunmetal details, a warm shade of yellow gold, and a satiny, easygoing blend of cherry blossom pink and rose gold. On the other hand, the limited editions come in an upbeat red and regal yellow gold, introduced to honour the Lunar New Year, and in shining steel with a foxy violet and blue gradient colour design. Also arriving with these is an exquisite-looking charging case, sporting the same curved Tambour outline as the earphones.
The charging case is adorned with Louis Vuitton’s Connected Monogram pattern that’s illuminated by LEDs. As per the high-end fashion brand, these “animate in a beautiful kaleidoscope of gradient colours, performing an electric dance while indicating battery levels.” Once this electro-light exhibit has ended, three lights stay on, displaying the case and earphones’ battery status.
Bundled with the package is a smart and practical on-the-go secondary travel case. This case features a pair of see-through clear glass holes on the top, teasing the Monogram pattern of the earphones in their full glory. The case is fitted with a snap hook and can be easily hooked to a belt loop or bag. The main purpose of this second case is to help users carry their earphones around in a secure and chic manner. Similar to the charging case and earphones, the travel case is decked with the Louis Vuitton Monogram pattern and even boasts a magnetised closing mechanism.
Looks and style aside, the Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up earphones are no slouch when it comes to delivering high-quality audio and sound. The manufacturer partnered with the world’s leading audio experts at Master & Dynamic to help nail that perfect sound. The earphones even offer wide frequency response for vibrant and balanced sound restitution and deliver superior levels of Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. These earphones instantly turn on when placed in the ear and are activated by a wear sensor. In terms of controls and buttons, the right earphone features a multi-function button for pausing, skipping tracks and answering calls. The left pair comes with buttons to adjust volume and noise control modes.
The claimed battery life on these is 28 hours, which is theoretically sufficient for even the most hard-core of users/listeners. A bonus feature here is the Bluetooth multipoint support, allowing you to connect two devices simultaneously. The earphones even have the ‘Ping my earphones’ feature, which when enabled produces a sound to help you easily locate them. The feature can be enabled via the accompanying Louis Vuitton Connect companion application, which is compatible with both iOS and Android.
Louis Vuitton’s foray into the technology sector isn’t new and these earphones definitely build upon the previous generations, presenting users with a much more refined, stylish and powerful pair of earphones that’s nothing like anything present on the market right now. However, with an exorbitant price tag of AUD$2,440, the Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up earphones are not meant for the faint-hearted. If you are in the mood to treat yourself to one of these and can somehow justify such a hole-burning price, you can get them via Louis Vuitton’s official web store now.
